What is the process of a sports or therapeutic massage at Bodywork by Jura?
I believe that booking a sports or therapeutic massage in Bern should feel as easy as the relief you’re about to find.
Here’s an easy walkthrough of what to expect before and after, so you can arrive with one less thing on your mind.
All massages are held at my cozy home practice in Bern, Switzerland.
Please note: sessions are currently offered in English only (Ich lerne langsam Deutsch!)
1. Book Online
Pick a time and session length that works for you.
I offer sport and therapy massage sessions in Bern in 45, 60, and 75 minutes.
Prefer cash? I do accept cash, but require a 10 CHF booking deposit to secure your slot.
Once you book, I’ll send a confirmation email with your date, time, and an intake form, so you arrive ready to get the most out of your session.
2. Your Sport/Therapy Massage Session
When you arrive at the Bern practice, we’ll spend a few minutes going over your intake form, checking in on how you feel that day, and setting clear goals for your session.
I work with unscented jojoba or almond oil, both are hypoallergenic. You can stay dressed or undressed, whatever helps you feel most at ease.
I use various modalities such as but not limited to deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, PNF, Active Release Therapy, Myofascial release, and more.
I practice within a trauma-informed framework. Your comfort, boundaries, and safety come first, always. You stay in control throughout, and you can communicate freely before, during, or after your session.
3. Aftercare: SOAP Notes
After every session, I write detailed SOAP notes and send them directly to you, along with a personal check-in over the following days.
SOAP notes are a structured, four-part documentation method used by healthcare professionals to record patient encounters consistently. They consist of Subjective (patient’s symptoms), Objective (provider’s findings), Assessment (diagnosis/impression), and Plan (treatment/next steps).
Your SOAP notes also include a personalised treatment plan which contains exercises and suggestions designed to create lasting permanent changes and relief for you. It’s also a great to use for other practitioners to pick up where we left off.
Sliding Scale and Accessibility:
I believe in accessible quality massage and bodywork in Bern. Sliding scale pricing is available for those in financial difficulty. If cost is a barrier to receiving care, please reach out.
